walking into sprinklers
I’m doing something experimental. I haven’t had time to think about blogging today so I’m typing this on my phone while walking. I didn’t get many steps today so I’m making up for it now. After I get home I’ll wrap it up with some closing thoughts.
Work was really busy for a Friday. My kids are still sick but feeling better, which meant their energy was back, which also meant we had to split up responsibilities in watching them. It reminded me of the COVID days, except everyone else is just at the office instead of also quarantining.
When I get back home I have a quiz to take for my marketing course. These quizzes are tough, but a pretty wild way to ring in the weekend!
Speaking of school, it’s looking like I’ll be wrapping up next spring. My decades-long college career is nearly over and I honestly can’t believe it. Maybe one day I’ll write a blog about that experience. Actually, maybe a book. Or a series of books. Or I’ll just daydream about it and never do it.
I’ve been so busy today that I haven’t had time to think about Monday. I’m so ready to get these scans done and move forward. I’ll be sure to post an update in the days after, giving myself time to process.
Speaking of giving myself time, I think I’ll put on some music and finish my walk.
So I finished my walk and it was so dark and gloomy. We’ve been expecting a thunderstorm that has still yet to happen, but I took a pic of the creepy clouds anyway. I also took screenshots of the songs I listened to, I’ll share if you’re so inclined to listen.
Oh yeah and I took my quiz before I jumped in here to blog, and made a 95! Man, talking about grades on a blog really does feel like Xanga all over again…
One last funny thing – my ears were hurting from wearing glasses the last few days so I took them off. As I was walking, things were blurry, but I know my way around. I just didn’t see the sprinklers going off and was jolted by forceful cold water on my shins. I hope those neighbors don’t have a doorbell camera.
Alright, on to the pics:
Here’s the creepy sky. Interesting, I know. The bottom never did fall out, so what a waste.
One of my favorite albums of all time. The Pumpkins sound perfect here. Arguably the best guitar tone from the 90s era.
From a later Sonic Youth album, this track has some incredible guitar work that you should check out.
One of my favorite songs from my favorite Beatle. His music has positively changed my mindset over the last couple years, this song in particular.
Natalie Merchant is on tour right now and I’m a little sad that she’s not making a stop in Nashville. I love her music, and this is a great song if you don’t know it. I’m also realizing there hasn’t been a single “new” song on this list yet. I should listen to newer music.
This song is great, but makes me sad because I miss Finn. The lyrics seem to allude to either a big traumatic consequence to a poor action – or regret for buying a cat instead of a dog.
Ripping solo, ultimate 90s sound, underrated band. They’re bigger than Mrs. Robinson! Please listen to this.
I’m a liar. This is new music. Momma put out my favorite album of 2022. This song is fantastic, but the entire album is great. 10/10.
I have purchased this album at least 4 times, at least 3 times on CD because I legitimately either wore the disc out or gave it away to friends. It’s another perfect album. This song was my walking closer, and it was fitting. Epic, cool, creepy song with my hero Dave on the drums.
Well, thanks for reading another weird one! Have a great weekend!
